VON IMP is a closed cattery on the East Coast of New Zealand. We have a small number of breeding cats as we want first of all for our cats to have a good life. Our breeding cats are also our much-loved pets and their health and wellbeing is our priority. All our cats are tested/screened for genetic diseases.  We never cage any of our cats, and they all have access to safe outdoor playground. We are very lucky to have access to fresh meat and we feed our cats raw meat diet. We live on a large property, far away from any roads and some of our neutered cats are allowed to ‘roam’, however, they never go too far from the house. Our boys live in wonderful stud cottages, with large runs attached, in our orchard. Boys that do not spray are allowed to visit us in the house. All our queens live in the house with us, where they bring up their kittens. We work with seal, blue, lilac and chocolate colours, and all ragdoll patterns (colourpoint, bi-colour and mitted), as well as lynx (tabby) markings.

If you look at our PHOTO GALLERY, you will see what a wonderful life our cats have here.

Please visit our INFO page to learn more about the ancient Turkish Angora breed. We are so excited to introduce this amazingly beautiful and elegant cat into New Zealand! Both NZCF and Catz Inc have already accepted our first turkish angora cats to be registered!

Our cattery name is registered with: NZCFCATZ INCCFA and TICA.

Congatulations to Lilla for becoming a Champion! And sorry Pinky for being overshadowed by your sister, but top ten placing for a small kitten is nothing to be ashemed of!

TUA News:

CATZ INC. National  Standings 2009 - Carmen has done really well this season. She was 'Best in Show' again on 14.6.2009. Catz Inc. Show in Kumeu!

01.07.2009. We have completed NZCF requrement to collect 'exposure points' and now we are waiting for them to proccess it so we can show our babies next season!

12.4.2009. Congratulations to Carmen, our white odd-eyed turkish angora! She won four times Best in Show (3 x Best in Show longhair kitten and 1 x Best in Show all-breed kitten) and she was twice a Runner-up (2nd Best in Show) all-breed kitten at Catz Inc. Royal Easter Show! Ferid won 3rd Best in Show longhair kitten and 5th Best in Show all breed kitten! Jaran won 3rd Best in Show Longhair cat and 5th Best in Show all breed! We had two very busy days!

26.03.2009. Unfortunately Behice has been diagnosed with iris coloboma. As it a genetically inherited deformation, we decided not to breed with her. However, since it is not a major problem for   her, and it will not cause her any problems (except for the sensitivity to bright sunlight), we will take her to shows. We are very sad about this as she has the best temperament and she is a very beautiful cat. But health comes ahead of everything else in our breeding programe, and since we are just starting with TUA in New Zealand, we do not want to risk breeding kittens with the same problem.

22.03.2009.   FIRST SHOW FOR TUA IN NEW ZEALAND! Both Ferid and Carmen did very well in the kitten section!

12.10.2009. I finally found some time to create a gallery for FERID and FEYYAZ! Those two boys are a dream come true - I never dare to let cats outside unless they were with me for at least 2 weeks, often longer. Ferid and Feyyaz are so friendly and unaffraid (and yes - affectionate!), I trusted them to come outside for a run after only 4 days with me! And did they love it!

10.03.2009.   NZCF has accepted TUA as a breed in New Zealand! We are now able to register and show our babies! First they will be on a provisional registry required to collect exposure points, and after 100 points they will be fully registered!

05.03.2009. THE BOYS HAVE ARRIVED! AND HOW SWEET AND CUDDLY THEY ARE! PHOTOS WILL BE UP SOON!!!

10.02.2009. First photos of the girls have now been posted. Behice's Gallery Carmen's Gallery Estrella's Gallery

06.02.2009.   Our first TUA girls have arrived safely!
