I must say it feels a little strange to have Carmen's 12 week old kittens running around when she already had a new litter. I normally breed all my queens just once a year, but in winter 2010 Carmen has been diagnosed with Pyometra - an infection of uterus. We managed to clear her up with medication and the cat specialist vet advised us to breed her on her first heat, and then after she has had kittens mate her again. As she has only had two kittens in her previous litter, she was in very good condition and we were happy to mate her again. She is doing really well with her babies now - she just loves being a mum! We will try to have one or two more litters with Carmen - all depending on her condition. After that she will be spayed and stay with us as a pet - she is my very special love - a truly unique girl.
