Ragdolls

I fell in love with ragdolls on first sight. The beautiful big blue-eyed cat with the best temperament, pushing itself into you for attention and cuddles, following you wherever you go….

Ragdolls are very laid back and people-orientated cats. They are quite large with soft silky coat and plumed tail. Their bodies are light-colored with darker Siamese-type points on face, legs, tail and ears. Three basic coat patterns are: pointed, mitted and bicolour. Six recognized pattern colours are: seal, blue, chocolate, lilac, red and cream. Points can be solid, lynx (tabby markings on points only), or tortie. They are a semi longhair breed, and although they have a long coat, they keep it very clean. They generally do not mat, but they do need regular brushing. More care is needed in spring, when they change their coat.

INDOOR/OUTDOOR. Most Ragdoll breeders will tell you that Ragdoll is ONLY AN INDOOR cat and should never be let outside. I do not believe that, but I am very fortunate to live miles away from any roads or predators. All cats, including Ragdolls need exercise and love to climb trees. If you have an opportunity to fence off your garden, your cat will love to have a play in it! But if you do not have safe outdoor environment, or a fenced off area, PLEASE DO NOT LET YOUR CAT OUTSIDE! As they are very trusting, they will approach strangers and be easily “lost”. And there is nothing as devastating as losing your kitten under a wheel! If you still want to take your kitten outside, it is very easy to teach it to walk on a leash.
